EICMA NFT 2022 COLLECTION

EICMA presents EICMA’S ROADS. An exclusive collection of non-fungible tokens (NFT). Ten unique digital rarities that mark the entry of the International Two-wheeler Exhibition into the Web 3.0. Also, thanks to the ancient roots of the longest-running exhibition event in the world, the opening collection of the EICMA NFTs is a journey across the 79 editions of EICMA over hundred years. The collection projects the event into the future of the web. Ten of the most significant posters of the exhibition become respectively ten unique videos, which tell and cross the two-wheeled history of EICMA and of Italy.

EICMA'S ROAD

What is a logo if not the graphic synthesis that best represents the identity of a product, a company, human brilliance? If we think about it, that's what it is. It's language, it's a trait that becomes an icon, the beginning of a relationship, of a journey. The one of EICMA starts from here, with the animation of the road that the logo of the Exhibition has covered in over a hundred years of history.

EICMA NFT 1921

The Exposition takes the first steps into its centennial history. In Italy there are only about thirty thousand motor vehicles and the British manufacturers prevails in the national market. Two-wheels pedal bikes are the protagonists of the everyday life in a country that tries to recover after the first great world conflict, despite the victory.

EICMA NFT 1926

Edition number 7, the second edition presented at Palazzo della Permanente in Milan, was launched by the Ministry of Economic and Finance. During that time, the cost for gas was very high and the conditions of the roads weren't optimal. However, the number of motorcycles in Italy was surpassing 60000 units. In the meantime, the number of bicycles counted was more than 3 million, confirming that it was the most common way of transportation.

EICMA NFT 1936

It is the seventeenth edition for what was then called the International Bicycle and Motorcycle Exhibition. In 1935 a Moto Guzzi wins the Tourist Trophy, the first Italian success, and the national companies begin to show their muscles for numbers and value also at the fair: there are 17 that attend, accompanied by a wide range of companies in the bicycle sector. And meanwhile Gino Bartali wins his first Giro d'Italia.

EICMA NFT 1952

Fausto Coppi signs his second Giro d'Italia - Tour de France double in that year and meanwhile the Exhibition becomes more and more established as a world-renowned event appreciated by the public and exhibitors. The 10,000 square meters of the Palazzo dell'Arte, where the exhibition is set up between '39 and' 52, are in fact beginning to be insufficient and the Exhibition moves to the Mechanics Pavilion of the Milan Trade Fair.

EICMA NFT 1963

That year the world mourns the losses of US President Kennedy, Pope John XXIII and the Vajont massacre. In the motorcycle world championship Giacomo Agostini makes his debut and the Exhibition welcomes almost 600 exhibitors to Milan, consolidating their international relevance. Among the innovations of this edition, number 38, the set-up of a section dedicated to motorcycles for freight transport and the promotion of a round table on cycling, attended by Costante Girardengo, Giuseppe Olmo and Gino Bartali.

EICMA NFT 1973

MV Agusta 350 "Ipotesi", Ducati 750 SS and Aspes Yuma: these are just some of the models that have gone down in history that were presented in this edition, number 43. Barbara Bouchet poses on the new Suzuki models and SWM presents its renewed range of off-road vehicles. But in the midst of austerity, it is the bicycle that confirms its leading role at the very popular Salon that year.

EICMA NFT 1975

Italian companies are the foundation of the movement but in the meantime the Japanese manufacturers also intensify their presence in the European motorcycle market and gain space within the event. The sector is in continuous expansion and the Exhibition, in this 44th edition, approaches 1000 hosted brands, coming from 18 different countries. Meanwhile, the Salon continues its growth and, precisely between 1971 and 1975, records a 50% increase in visitors.

EICMA NFT 1985

The very fast American driver Freddie Spencer wins his second world championship in that year in the premier class, the 500. In 1985 the BMX bike begins to become popular, even the Italian manufacturers begin to produce it. The Official Guide of the 49th Edition of the International Bicycle, Motorcycle and Accessories Exhibition has 322 pages and puts in writing the numbers of an exhibition that has come to occupy an exhibition area of over 33,000 square meters.

A very young Valentino Rossi wins the Italian Speed Championship in the 125 class before making his debut, the following year, in the motorcycle world championship. For the first time in 80 years of history, bicycles and motorcycles are exhibited in two different moments: the "pedals" in September, the "pedestals" in November. For the latter, the International Motorcycle Exhibition marks a new record reference in numbers: over 800 brands on display and 550 exhibitors from 28 countries.

From November 6 to 11, the 76th edition of EICMA is a showcase for the future of two-wheeled mobility. With the headline "We see roads that don't even exist yet", the exhibition event opens with technology and the ability of the industry to anticipate times. There are many models and previews presented during this edition, which today we see on the roads, as rich is also the presence of e-Bikes, now the absolute protagonists of the market.
