Lambretta celebrates the 60th anniversary of the J model at EICMA 2024 with a special edition, the Lambretta J Starwave. The connection to the original goes beyond just the name. Today’s Lambretta J, or Junior, is a lightweight scooter (135 kg), with small-to-medium dimensions (seat height at 790 mm), retracing the same philosophy as 60 years ago, aiming to appeal to a younger audience. The Lambretta J Starwave draws inspiration from the world of surfing and "beach culture." A distinctive feature is a surfboard-like design element mounted on the front shield, serving as an exclusive, customizable aesthetic addition. The company also showcased various customization kits at the event, including front stripes and fenders. The elongated rectangular side panels echo Lambretta’s classic lines, as does the “long and low” silhouette inspired by American tradition. This style is complemented by a long, minimalist seat and an iconic hexagonal headlight—an unmistakable mark of the Italian brand. The J model range includes two four-stroke, four-valve, liquid-cooled engine variants. The J125 has a 124.6 cc engine with 12.2 HP and 11.5 Nm of torque, while the J200, with a 174.5 cc engine, increases these figures to 17 HP and 15.5 Nm. The new Lambretta J Starwave will be available starting June 2025.
