Triumph Motorcycles has announced significant updates to its Speed Twin 1200, as well as the launch of a new Speed Twin 1200 RS. The 1200cc ‘high power’ twin-cylinder engine gains an extra 5hp peak power, now reaching 105hp at 7,750rpm and 112Nm of torque. The chassis sees major improvements: the Speed Twin 1200 uses Marzocchi fork and shock absorbers with separate reservoir, while the RS version adopts Öhlins suspension and Brembo Stylema brake callipers. In addition, the RS introduces a sportier riding position, courtesy of repositioned handlebars and rear-set footpegs. Both bikes are fitted with Metzeler tyres. On the electronics front, the Speed Twin 1200 features two Riding Modes - Road and Rain - enhanced ABS together with traction control. The RS version also includes the Sport riding mode and Triumph's electronic shift assist. Bikes will be available in dealers around the world from December 2024.
