The Yamaha R1 2025 is a track-only model, thus focused exclusively on performance and getting rid of unnecessary elements such as catalytic converters and headlights. The technical basis is confirmed, with an aluminium frame and 200 hp CP4 engine with irregular firing, but there are several new features. Aerodynamics are inspired by the MotoGP YZR-M1 and the new R1 features a new fairing with carbon fibre appendages. The 43mm KYB fork now has separate rebound and compression settings, while the braking system adopts Brembo components, including Stylema calipers. The all-new seat cover material, with new texture, offers greater grip. The electronic package remains comprehensive, managed by a 6-axis IMU, include traction control, anti-skid and multi-map ABS. In addition, Yamaha offers the R1 GYTR version, equipped with special parts such as the GYTR ECU, Akrapovic exhaust and carbon fibre fairing, ready for racing and track days.
